Dear Ford Street Friends,
I am looking forward to the sermon series beginning this Sunday as we explore our vision statement of “Engage. Embrace. Encourage.” These are words that we may see or use everyday, but in the context of our church community, they have deep and even challenging meanings for us as members of the Body of Christ.
When you come to church on Sunday, you will receive an index card in your bulletin that will invite you to reflect and commit to a way you will “Engage” in the life of the church, our community, or to deepen your relationship with God. There will be a new index card for each week of the series. We will pin our responses to the board in the sanctuary to create a collage of hopes and commitments to our vision as a church. I look forward to this work we will do together.
One of the ways you might think about “engaging” in the community is by learning about the possibility of a new recovery ministry here in Lapel. Our friends at Trinity UMC are hosting an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 23 at 7:00 pm about Brianna’s Hope. This is a wonderful recovery ministry that I have had the opportunity to work with at a church I previously served. Volunteers are needed to make this possibility a reality. I encourage you to attend this informational meeting to see what the possibilities might be.
As always, my door is open to you. See you in worship!
