Pastor Pondering:
Last week, I received a picture from Xavier with a note attached from his art teacher. She said that he put a lot of thought into this particular piece, and had mentioned something about hearing about “hope” in “one of mom’s sermons at church.” This is what proud mom moments are made of, aren’t they?
Just when we think that little ears are not listening or little eyes are not seeing, we are hit with moments like this. We know that here at Ford Street, we hope to continue to reach out to young people and their families, but like every church like ours, we struggle at times to reach these persons. So what can we do?
We can PRAY.
We can extend an INVITATION.
We can be CREATIVE in our ministry and outreach.
We can HOPE.
We can be examples of HOSPITALITY in our community.
We can COLLABORATE with other faith communities.
We can LOVE children as Jesus loves them.
What will you do to embody HOPE as we continue being the church together?
Speaking of hope, this week our sermon series “Just to Say Thanks” continues with the message “Expect a Miracle.”
And the following Sunday, November 26, we will celebrate Gratitude Sunday. Everyone will receive a Gratitude Card to present as an act of worship. We will have a special gift for each person who expresses how they will give thanks to God in the following year.
We hope to see you very soon at Ford Street, or for a cup of coffee at Gathering Grounds!
In Christ,
We hope to see you soon at Ford Street!
In Christ,
Pastor Jill
