Pastor John’s thoughts heading into Palm Sunday:
It is so good to be part of the Ford Street UMC community.
It is all about relationships. Who is God putting in your path to connect with? I believe that most people today learn about Christ through healthy relationships with Christians.
I want to challenge you to consider what a disciple is. Here is my working description:
A disciple is a follower of Jesus Christ who is committed to:
*Being part of the body of Christ
*Becoming more like Jesus
*Joining Jesus in the ministry field.
Sunday at Ford Street, I am looking forward to sharing a worship service focused on a pattern of scripture, reflection and song. For those who would like to join us, we will be gathering in Gathering Grounds and will process into sanctuary with palms. This is a multi-generational processional for all who would like to join us.
I want to encourage you to invite and come to church with a neighbor or friend either for Good Friday, Easter or both.
I also encourage you to join us as we share the following prayer:
Lord Jesus, prepare us, Ford Street UMC to be a people with their arms wide open.
Prepare us to be ready to fully embrace, engage and encourage one another, a new pastor and the community.
What is/has God done in your life? I look forward to hearing your story.
Blessings,
John Randall
